Outdoor activity themed “30th Anniversary, FOTIC, My Road” launched

China Foreign Economy and Trade Trust Co., Ltd. (FOTIC) celebrated its 30th birthday through arranging outdoor activities, involving walking, running and riding, by the theme of “30th Anniversary, FOTIC, My Road” on September 23 at the Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park.

At the occasion, Sinochem Group President Zhang Wei presented the birthday present and wishes to FOTIC on behalf of the Group. Pledging Sinochem’s support for the company’s development, Zhang Wei hoped that FOTIC could rapidly grow stronger and become the member with the highest net profit within the Group.

Founded on September 30, 1987, FOTIC is one of the oldest trust companies in China, with 2017 marking 30 years of its establishment. But why did the company celebrate its 30th birthday with outdoor activities based on a relay pattern? Answering this question, FOTIC Chairman Yang Lin said, “Walking, running and riding was exactly the portrait of our development in the past 30 years. Walking depicts early stage of our establishment when we struggled amidst various difficulties but strode forward steadily and weathered through all the challenges. Then after joining the Group and relying on its strengths, we ran freely and developed rapidly. Next, by seizing the opportunities brought by reform, we hopped on an express train and rode even farther, finally becoming a trust company trusted by investors. Going forward, we need to realize leapfrog development by shifting our mode from ‘riding’ to ‘flying’.” 

The activities consisted of three links (walking, running and riding), with each link covering a distance of 10 miles and accomplishable only through relay. “Different from Olympic Games, this activity was launched for projecting that at FOTIC we run after spiritual medals than physical ones. By connecting the three links through relay, I hope we can unify the target of pursuing excellence, integrate it into our big family and carry forward the spirit,” said FOTIC General Manager Elzat.

The relay baton resembled a torch, symbolizing FOTIC’s spirit of striving forward and never giving up, which was passed down from generation to generation in the past 30 years.

Present at the event, Sinochem Group officials, the company’s shareholders, senior management, customer representatives, employee representatives and family members thereof unveiled the relay baton together. This symbolized that the company has always borne in mind its mission of providing premium and professional products and services to customers, thereby creating reasonable and sustainable investment returns for shareholders and establishing a solid and harmonious career development platform for employees.

Moreover, the company held an award ceremony for its honorary employees on the spot. As the development of an enterprise would be impossible without the contribution of employees, FOTIC has always regarded “talents” as the most fundamental and important resource.

On the occasion of marking the 30th anniversary of its founding, officials of Sinochem Group, the company and relevant business units granted honorary commemorative medals to employees with work seniority of over five, ten, twenty and twenty-five years, thanking them for their contributions to the company.
